Week Calendar

Join us for stories, songs and fingerplays geared for little ones ages 0 - 3 and their caregivers, followed by playtime.  Registration is required each week.

Families are invited to bring a blanket or chair and join us for stories, songs and rhymes on the lawn.  Stories are geared for preschoolers, siblings are welcome.

We're so excited for our storytime field trip to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden! Our storytime will focus on bugs and nature, and after storytime the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden will be doing a craft themed around the books we read! 

Sensory Storywalks are a welcoming, friendly environment for children. During our special storytime, we will read, sing songs, and do rhymes in a unique way. We'll walk around the trail as we read our story and end at the playground! Miss.

We're celebrating the first week of Summer Programs with Alcosan. Bring your little ones to learn about chemical reactions while creating rainbows. 

Join us for a friendly game of chess every Wednesday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. No registration needed!

For children starting Kindergarten in the fall of 2024. Our first class will be about cooperation and friendship. We will focus on working together, sharing ideas, listening, and following directions with stories and games!

Look for us and the Friends of the Library at Day on the Avenue! We hope to see you there!

Kids in kindergarten - fifth grade are invited to meet an Allegheny County Park Ranger and their Eastern Black Rat Snake, Mr. McSlithers!  Learn about Mr. McSlithers' habitat, diet, and every day life.

Every week we will have a different activity. Some of the activities will be anime watching, DIY, karaoke, and a lot more. 

This week we're creating Diamond Painting coasters of cats or dogs. 

Kids in kindergarten - fifth grade and their families are invited to explore our community this summer!  Each week we'll have a different guest teach us something new.  Registration is required each week.

Kids who enjoy early chapter books are invited to join us to take a bite out of some good books!  We'll read from the first chapter of a different book each time while we share snacks, then do a fun activity related to the book.

Get creative and learn some pop-art skills while painting your pet with other teens.

Make sure to bring your own picture of your pet! 

Registration is required for this program. 

Learn the basics of amigurumi crochet! Every other week, we'll get together to learn the basics of amigurumi crochet, and we'll work a little more on the little cat we're crocheting.

Join Pittsburgh Classic Movie Club for an outdoor movie on the library's patio. Film begins at dusk.
